“Super Storm” Sandy brings wet weather to Michigan

The aftermath of Hurricane Sandy has arrived in Metro Detroit and has closed many schools and businesses across the eastern US. As one of the biggest storms to hit the US, this Super Storm has the potential to impact thousands of basements.  Many homeowners are worried about their basements getting wet and whether their sump pumps are functioning adequately.  It is a good idea to check out your basement throughout the storm to check for signs of water and make sure your sump pump is operating and able to handle the water. If you don’t have a battery back-up, now is a good time to call in a professional to install one.  Power outages and storms go hand-in-hand, and homeowners need to make sure their home is adequately protected from the water this type of storm brings.

If you have any questions or concerns about your basement or sump pump, contact the experts at Foundation Systems of Michigan for a free homeowner inspection to evaluate your situation, give you an expert opinion and offer you an affordable solution specific to your needs.  We are open and ready to assist you!
