Foundation Systems of Michigan Partners with Habitat for Humanity

This year, the team at Foundation Systems of Michigan (FSM) partnered with Habitat for Humanity. As part of the companywide Build Together 2024 initiative, employees assisted in home builds for members of the local communities.

FSM’s parent company, Groundworks, donated $100,000 Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the country to support long-term stability through safe and affordable housing. Part of the Goodworks by Groundworks program, this partnership gives 5,000 employees the chance to volunteer in 63 communities throughout the year.

Livonia

FSM employees in Livonia volunteered their time on May 4 with the Habitat for Humanity of Western Wayne County. FSM team members spent the day building the framing for a garage and landscaping around the home. Volunteers were excited to spend their day with Habitat and see the direct impact on their local community.

Traverse City

Our Traverse City team members volunteered with Habitat for Humanity Grand Traverse Region on August 17. The team of six tribemates spent the day caulking, installing windows, and placing soffit on the outside of the home.

“The Grand Traverse Region, Habitat for Humanity is fortunate to have the support from our business community. On Saturday August 17th, we had the pleasure of having employees from FSM join us at our New Waves development for a day of caulking, and siding work. This crew came prepared, eager and willing to jump in wherever we needed them. A big thank you to FSM for their partnership in bringing our Habitat families closer to Homeownership.” – Victoria Stone, Community Engagement Specialist

Grand Rapids

In October, Grand Rapids employees volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Kent County. Dedicated team members spent the entire day at the build site. In the morning, the team removed scaffolding and installed siding. In the afternoon, the team framed out the new stud wall. Their efforts were appreciated by the Habitat team!

Rochester Hills

Employees from the Rochester Hills office participated in a playhouse build with Livingston Habitat for Humanity. Volunteers spent the day building two playhouses; one was used for Habitat’s Christmas Extravaganza fundraiser event and the other went to a partner family in the community.

FSM employees were excited for the opportunity and had a great day constructing the playhouses.
