I am in the process of closing on a home. It does not have a basement, but it has a crawl space (that is in fairly good condition). However, the crawl does not have a basic plastic vapor barrier (currently just a dirt floor) and I am interested in having one installed. Generally, what does that cost? Total encapsulation may be a little above my current budget, but if you wanted to share pricing on that as well, I’m open to hearing it.

Newly purchased home with a crawl space under expansion to home that occurred about 16 years ago. Inspector notes it is not properly insulated (batt insulation between floor joists. Appears to have a vapor barrier on floor and minimum insulation on walls. Floor is cold and airflow from furnace is weak. Need someone to take a look and recommend improvements.

Elmhurst Ave in Royal Oak
We have an extension on our home and it is freezing cold. We have vents, but they don't do much and the furniture blocks them. We bought the house a couple years ago and its always been the coldest room in the house. I believe there is crawl space underneath, I see an opening but for some reason the builders put back steps over it. They look pretty easy to remove. What would the estimate be for an inspection and insulation if needed?
