What To Do Now

Use a Dehumidifier

A regular dehumidifier and a Santa Fe machine are completely different machines and are on opposite sides of the spectrum. Let's take a look at the difference between the two machines.

A dehumidifier only has a prop fan that simply doesn’t move the air around enough to be effective! This means that only the area in a small radius around the dehumidifier actually gets circulated and the moisture taken out of it. So, your dehumidifier will work for a very small space and then will shut off while the rest of the basement or crawlspace remains humid.

On the other hand, our Santa Fe machines, which are approved as Energy Star efficient, do several different things when it comes to cleaning and drying the air in larger spaces. A Santa Fe machine has a centrifugal blower (the same blower that is in your furnace) to circulate the air in a room. This means that it will move a massive amount of air around the basement or crawlspace instead of only a small area like a regular dehumidifier. While the machine is dehumidifying the air, it also takes the air and filters it to take out the dust mites and mold spores that may be in the air. The number one allergen in the home is dust mite's feces with dust mites second and mold third. The Santa Fe machines will remove all of these allergens from the air.

The Santa Fe machines also use a lot less energy than a dehumidifier does. With most people trying to go green and not waste energy or just save money on their energy bills, the Santa Fe has a great benefit to them. Our machines are three times efficient as a regular dehumidifier but only use half the amount of energy in day that a dehumidifier does.

A dehumidifier is not want you want for a large space in your home like your basement or crawl space. They are okay for small spaces but when it comes to large areas you need a more powerful machine like the Santa Fe product line.
